Universal Joints

Universal Joints is an all metal coupling between 2 Shafts, allowing for radial and axial misalignment and simultaneously transmitting torque, even at variable speeds. These couplings have the ability to transmit power even at high working angles ( upto 45 °)in a minimal amount of space

Originally claimed to have been designed by an Italian mathematician-Geronimo Cardano ( the British declaring that Hooke had designed this, earlier). Hence, also known as Cardon Shafts/Hooke’s Joints . In earlier designs, this joint appeared to have the construction of balls and was known as Ball Joint ,also.

Drive Universal Joint

Model A has a centrally hardened bush with a capacity of retaining grease-thus improving life of the joints. Model V ( with needle bearings ) comes filled with grease. Regular lubrication increases the life of all Universal Joints.

Extendable Universal Joint

Extendable type Joints ( with facility to move- min/max .Length ) are available in all 3 Models-AL/A and V. For special needs, the splines can hardened and ground to provide torque and movement, at the same time. Different coatings ca be offered to suit the environment where these joints are being employed- Blackening and Electro less Nickel coating are some.
